Data Architect – North London
Do you have a strong background in Big Data solutions? Have you done the hands-on design, development and implementation and testing of Big Data solutions from scratch? Our client, a leading provider of solutions and services in their space, have ambitious plans to expand the scope of what they can offer their clients and significantly disrupt an existing paradigm. Whilst our client and their business are very well established, this opportunity is potentially ground-breaking.
To achieve their vision, our client would like to appoint a Data Architect, reporting to the CTO. You would be a key appointment in a growing technology team.
What would you do?
* You would lead the hands-on design, development, implementation and testing of Big Data solutions from scratch in Cloud environments (AWS/Azure/GCP)
* Map all data sources and create data management, transformation and publishing frameworks
* Undertake targeted design for ODS, Analytics/Insight
* Design of adaptable and extendable taxonomies in Search (Solr/Lucene/ElasticSearch/RedisSearch/MS FAST)
* Organise and develop transformations on unstructured data
What we are looking for:
* A genuine self-starter, an individual who can see the commercial opportunities available
* Degree educated with a minimum of a relevant bachelor’s degree from a reputable university
* Someone from a Blue-chip background, ideally from a digital-first organisation and with a clear track record of project delivery
* Specific and direct experience with cloud-hosted Data technologies HBase/DynamoDb/Mongo/Redis/Couchbase/Hadoop/Hortonworks/Cloudera
* Demonstrable expertise of Pub-Sub models, Metering, Polyglot Persistence
* Proven ability to plan and migrate legacy SQL stored procedures and bespoke scripts and processes to Big data platforms
* Expertise in MapReduce, JSON, Sharding, Scaling, Entity models, Open APIs, API management
* Exposure to AWS Kafka or similar and IoT, Omnichannel platforms innovation would be advantageous
