Salary: £18 – £24 per hour
A large NHS organisation is seeking to appoint an Interim Head of Treasury and Financial Accounts in the South East region.
Main responsibilities:
To enact the detailed daily Treasury activities and to recommend the best ways of maximising short term returns whilst minimising risk and maintaining adequate liquidity and in compliance with the Trust’s treasury policies;
To ensure that all financial transactions of the Trust are correctly recorded, accurately, on-time and completely in accordance with Trust Standing Financial Instructions, IFRS and all statutory and regulatory requirements;
To organise the process of producing the Trust’s Financial Statements (Statement of Cashflows and Statement of Financial Position) on a monthly, quarterly and annually in accordance with IFRS together with other routine reports against tight deadlines;
To prepare the Annual Accounts for all Trust organisations in compliance with all statutory reporting requirements. Design and develop information systems to streamline the collation of this information;
To maintain the integrity of the Trust’s financial records such that they accurately reflect the Trust’s financial position at all times;
To ensure that the Trust’s charitable funds are maintained in accordance with all statutory and regulatory bodies including the Charity Commissioners; to ensure that accurate accounting records are kept and that the accounts are produced on time;
To ensure that all records are available for audit as requested and that all audit recommendations are actioned;
To ensure that all capital assets of the Trust are correctly authorised and recorded; that assets are given appropriate asset lives; that regular expenditure reports are generated;
Responsible for the day-to-day management and performance of the Financial Reporting and Treasury functions.
Key Skills/Experience:
CCAB Accountancy Qualification (CIMA, ACCA, CIPFA or ICAEW) with continuing professional development and post qualification experience
Broad understanding of NHS accounting and Charity Accounting
Experience of day-today staff management
Preparation of Statutory Financial Statements and compliance with IFRS
In depth knowledge of VAT including NHS legislation and practices
