Rate: Competitive
Term: 6 months minimum
Job Summary:
Our client is seeking to recruit Infrastructure Engineers and Technicians at all levels to join their Development Infrastructure team in Basingstoke and assist in project delivery and business development.
The successful candidate will have to attend our client’s Basingstoke offices at least once a week, but our client will consider candidates wishing to work longer hours over 3 or 4 days, from home, or on a part-time basis.
The Development Infrastructure team specialises in providing detailed design and high level advice (including expert witness services) to private and public sector clients on planning and design issues relating to highways, drainage, flood protection, earthworks and service coordination on a range of projects both in the UK and overseas.
Responsibilities / Accountabilities:
Your role will involve:
Project management of various schemes from initial concept study all the way through to detailed design, including planning application submission and construction drawing issue
Providing guidance to junior members of staff
Responsibility for client, design and statutory authorities liaison
Contributing to project fee proposals, bids, budgets, resource levels and all associated HSE, CDM and QA aspects
Client care and business development
Delivering projects within budget and on programme
Qualifications / Experience:
The successful candidate should possess:
Engineering qualification/degree preferred
Extensive experience in both highway and drainage design and a wide knowledge of the development industry using software such as AutoCAD, Windes, MicroDrainage or PDS
Good working knowledge of the legal, financial and planning processes involved in delivering projects
Experience with the production of S278, S38 and S104 agreements preferred
Experience working to design standards such as DMRB and Manual for Streets and preparing masterplans, technical reports and construction drawings preferred
Experience in applying protocols and procedures in conjunction with local guidelines, Highways Agency, local authorities and drainage design guidance
