Salary: £30,000 – £50,400 per year
WorkBank are excited to offer a fabulous opportunity for an experienced Sales/Account Manager with a background in either finance or accountancy.
Job Purpose Summary
Working with the clients sales team, to drive new sales into the payroll provider and UK accountancy markets. The role will focus on selling various cloud based software solutions, services and development to new clients.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
o Cold calling/gaining access to prospective clients
o Demonstrations of the core clients products
o Management of the complete end to end sales process providing relevant technical information
o Working from a defined list of prospective clients
o Clear and defined monthly targets for new sales
o Liaising with the internal teams (development, product management, support etc) to ensure that new clients
o Involvement/reviewing all monthly billing to ensure smooth running and delivering to the growth targets that client has agreed up front with the clients team if not understanding why not and putting a plan in place to address this
o Target to deliver a client reference story every three months
o Updating all activities in the Salesforce CRM system
o Reporting on a weekly basis to the direct manager on progress with all accounts (new & existing)

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:
o Gaining access and new sales prospects
o Plan and carry out sales activities (calls, meetings, mails etc)
o Ability to manage the complete end to end sales process
o Develop expertise knowledge etc of the clients products to be able to deliver pre-sales technical presentations both on site and remotely to potential new clients
o Able to develop new business sales plans, returns on investments and business case information
o Respond to and follow up sales enquiries by post, telephone, and personal visits all clients should receive a response within 24 hours
o Monitor and report on activities and provide relevant management information via the Salesforce CRM system
o Develop an understanding of the client needs to ensure that this can be collated and reviewed internally by the clients development team if additional development is required.
o Liaise and attend meetings with other company functions necessary to perform duties and aid business and organisational development
o Attend training and to develop relevant knowledge and skills when required
Personality: Self-driven, results-oriented with a positive outlook, and a clear focus on high quality and business profit. A natural forward planner who critically assesses own performance. Mature, credible, and comfortable in dealing with senior company executives. Reliable, tolerant, and determined. Empathic communicator, able to see things from the other person’s point of view. Well presented and businesslike. Sufficiently mobile and flexible to travel up to a few days a month within the UK. Keen for new experience, responsibility and accountability. Able to get on with others and be a team player.
Personal Situation: Must be mature. Able to spend one or two nights away per month without upsetting domestic situation. Able to commute reliably to office base. Able to work extended hours on occasions when required. Must have clean or near clean driving license.
Specific Job Skills: Able to identify, gain access and close new business sales. Understand the needs and requirements of new customers and how these relate to the existing client base. Able to liaise internally to ensure that new clients are provided with the best possible new client experience.
Computer skills: Must be adept in use of MS Office or later, particularly Excel and Word, and ideally Access or similar database to basic level, Internet and email.
Literacy and Numeracy: Able to understand profit and loss calculations and basic business finance, e.g., gross margin percentages and calculations, depreciation, capital and revenue expenditure, cash-flow, overheads, etc. Must be a very competent writer of business letters.
Business and Selling Skills: Must be an excellent face-to-face and telephone communicator. Able to demonstrate success and experience managing major accounts customers and large contracts or even a business. Ideal background would be in accountancy, payroll, business support services.
Management Ability: Internal staff management is not part of the job.
