Print Manager – Newport
We are working with a large packaging manufacturing firm who have an excellent opportunity available for a Print Manager to join the manufacturing team based at their plant in the Newport area.
The role
The Print Manager will lead a team of Lithographic Printers and oversee the carton print process in a busy manufacturing (packaging) environment.
Responsibilities:
Will include but are not restricted to:
– Lead a team of experienced printers to ensure agreed and measurable targets are met.
– Ensure that printing machines are operating to an optimum level.
– Manage and monitor waste downtime and efficiency.
– To maintain focus on direct costs, labour utilisation, material specification and waste alongside accurate completion of performance reports.
– Build individual relationships with the team.
– Build accountability within the team for performance.
– Encourage the team to generate solutions using improvement tools.
– Review performance with the team, formally and informally.
– Comply with the company Health & Safety, Hygiene and Environmental Regulations.
– Ensure compliance to all quality systems to prevent sub-standard product reaching the customer. Identify issues and take action in a timely manner, in line with procedure.
Your skills and background
– Proven track record of leading others.
– Knowledge of safety, quality and continuous improvement techniques.
– Extensive experience within the lithographic printing industry.
– Strong leadership skills with proven ability to lead and develop a management team to improve their skills to supervise motivate and manage hourly employees.
– Knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques.
– Knowledge of ISO / Colour Management Standards.
– Proficient IT skills including Microsoft Excel and Word.
– Excellent organisational and analytical skills.
Demonstrated track record of efficiency and profitability improvements.
