Overview
2fawcett are recruiting for a Supplier Manager, to join a company located in Newark on a permanent basis. Reporting to the Head of Supplier Development, working at their Head Office in Newark, Nottinghamshire.
The Role & Responsibilities of the Supplier Manager
* You will be accountable for the leadership and management of the department, ensuring high levels of engagement and motivation.
* Identify and implement KPI’s and SLA’s to deliver against targets, drive efficiencies and put into practice LEANER working processes. You will implement strategies to improve the effectiveness of the team and individuals.
* You will analyse departmental statistics and information that is available to you, to provide regular updates and enable you to recommend improvements.
* You will be responsible for overseeing, reviewing, and producing commercial pricing for new business opportunities, growth within existing accounts and existing contract retentions. ensuring we are producing the most compelling and compliant offering.
* You will build and maintain strong supplier relationships, through effective quarterly reviews and regular communication, instilling a culture of negotiation throughout the team.
* You will be accountable for the mobilisation of all new business contracts, delegating responsibility throughout the team. You will work with the Innovation and Sustainability Teams to co-ordinate the transition of services for all project work that is implemented.
* You will be responsible for the co-ordination of the annual supplier price increase, this will include conducting negotiations, analysing, and reporting financial impacts and recommendation
* Through effective 1-2-1’s identify training and development needs. With the support of the business implement training, coaching and development programs. You will work with the People Department to ensure that all training is recorded and assessed and that individual training records are maintained.
* You will empower, lead and motivate your team by supporting, advising and continually training to ensure that your team is working as effectively as possible.
* You will support your line manager to prepare and deliver a detailed departmental monthly report that will drive informed business decisions.
* You will deputize for the Head of Supplier Development in their absence
* Have a basic understanding of current UK Employment Law and effectively manage your employees with this knowledge

Requirements of the Supplier Manager

* Decision making – you will be able to independently make difficult and strong decisions and be able to implement them quickly and effectively
* Highly effective communication skills – you must listen well, ask good questions, build superb relationships, write clearly and talk with confidence, you need to have the ability to seek out information and pass it on appropriately throughout the business
* Efficient organisation – you will need to work quickly and accurately with a strong eye for detail, so that your customers always get a good high quality service
* Efficient time management – to be able to manage your own workload through effective time management with an ability to critically analyse your own performance
* Confident and capable IT skills – you will be using Microsoft Office, you need to have a good level of competence, being able to operate with confidence and without supervision. You must be able to present information quickly and clearly having the ability to use all the basic functions well
* Fantastic relationship builder – you will have the ability to build strong relationships, through your positive attitude and your listening skills. These relationships will enable you to do your job well supporting the department that you will work in and the departments that your work impacts on.
