Site Support Engineer (Electrical / Electronic Bias)

The Role

Working within a small team in the Test, Development and Certification departments, this role will be involved in the prototyping, de-risk, technical support and certification of products. Within this scope there is a requirement to provide on-site customer support for a range of electromechanical products. This support will range from training and fault finding through to concern resolution and customer coordination at their facilities. This duty will rotate around the team on a weekly basis, one week on and 2 or 3 off.

Accountabilities:

Operate as a single point of contact for company actions while on customers’ sites.
Operate as a single point of contact for on-site engineer while on rotation.
Provide technical support to customer user and maintenance teams for familiarisation and customer training.
Undertaking fault finding and concern investigation on products that involve mechanical, electrical and electronic systems
Complete and coordinate remedial works on products as required.
Contribute to the development and build of prototypes, endurance rigs and de-risk modules.
Support condition monitoring and preventative maintenance activities.
Maintain product database for activities and interventions.
Produce technical documentation and support CE mark procedures and certification.

The Person

A degree level qualification in engineering (electrical or electronic engineering would be an advantage)
Must have good assembly techniques – good electrical and electronic fault finding skills, the ability to identify the correct tool requirements, the ability to identify correct assembly methodology, the ability to originate SOPs and the ability to work to an produce accurate Parts Lists.

Must be able to produce accurate and concise reports.

You must be able to demonstrate the following skills:

Electrical wire preparation and termination techniques.
Cable routing and management.
Component selection and application.
Understand schematics and circuit diagrams.
Electrical Troubleshooting – use of diagnostic tools, multimeter, oscilloscope etc.
PLC – programming and application, troubleshooting.
Mechanical fault finding skills.
