Salary: £33,600 – £54,000 per year
DESIGN ENGINEERS
When our client was established in 2001, they set out to deliver best-in-class ground source and air source heat pump solutions, today they have over 14 years’ experience in the design, engineer, install and maintain leading edge innovative renewable heating and cooling systems and are the UK’s leading large scale heat pump provider. They also work across, Air Source Heat Pumps, Combined Heat & Power, Solar PV and Solar Thermal.
Reporting to the Engineering Manager you will be able to:
• Take full responsibility for system design from conception through detailed design to post-installation design verification
• Undertaking mechanical design of both Domestic and Commercial Heat Pump systems and other renewable technologies
• Specify equipment; produce system schematics, layout drawings and materials requirement
• Provide technical support to the Sales and Installations departments
• Attend client meetings as required to finalise and co-ordinate system capabilities and interfaces
• Carry out all duties so as to ensure efficiency and rigour in Engineering practices/output
• Manage workload effectively and adhere to deadlines in an environment where priorities can be shifting
• Participate fully in the creative and entrepreneurial atmosphere of a growing company
Skills/Qualifications
• 5-7 years post qualification experience in design role with experience of renewables
• Mechanical Engineering/Building Services degree or equivalent/Masters
• Proven track record of design capability and IT capability, AutoCAD and MS Excel essential and 3D AutoCAD/Microstation an advantage
• Experience working with at least 3 of the following technologies: GSHP, ASHP, Solar Thermal, Solar PV, CHP, Biomass
• Familiar with fluid dynamics, hydraulic design, calculating flow rates, pipe sizes, pressure loss, pump, valve and commissioning set selection
• Excellent organisational, communication,
• Ability to manage own workload and multi task
• Analytical, collaborative, team Player essential
