Software and Automation Engineer

Salary: £48,000 per year

Direct Response Employment Services are delighted to be recruiting for an engineer to join our local client in Frome, joining the team on a permanent basis and carrying out the following duties. 

Key Duties: 

• To Ensure that the site has a robust, reliable operating platform and that adequate procedures and training are in place to recover from any potential failures.
• Support engineering team with fault findings on complex issue. 
• Ensure effective handover of work and communications between engineering shifts, assessing the situation and if required stay to resolve the issue. 
• To support site engineering teams in monitoring site processing so as to identify potential savings and advise on the efficient use of the plant.
• Work with external bodies to improve the reliability and effectiveness of plant equipment.
• Communicate clearly to all relevant staff on changes, including change control and roll back documentation. 
• Ensure all areas are kept clean
• Support and be part of the on call team. 

Experience and Skills: 

• Good automation knowledge of PLC, HMI and ASI
• Excellent fault finding and route cause analysis skills.
• Understanding of health and safety and legislation requirements. 
• Some supervisory experience would be beneficial. 

This is a full time, permanent role with a salary of £48,000per annum plus 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, Company Sick Pay, Death in service, Wellbeing discounts and long service rewards.
