Groundsman / Gardener

Ashberry Recruitment have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Groundsman/Gardener to be part of a team who deliver exacting standards in a superb location.

As Groundsman you will be responsible for a number of landscape duties including

* Soil cultivation, digging, forking, mulching, watering, raking, weeding, edging, pruning, seed sowing, bed preparation and planting

* Lawn maintenance and cultivation
* The use and maintenance of hand tools and basic light machinery and plant
* The use of cylinder and rotary mowers, strimmers, leaf blowers
* Adjustments of mower height and quality of cut, etc. Oil level checks and check for damage to any mower
* To be aware of Health and Safety requirements noting that all duties must be carried out to comply with current Health & Safety at Work legislation
* To ensure all equipment, machinery and buildings are secure and working
* To keep the gardens tidy
* To apply chemicals where appropriate
* Make orders for the flowers stock on a regular basis
*To keep the gardens, thoroughfares and highway footpaths clear and free from litter at all times

You must be

* Experienced
* Enthusiastic about gardening
* Tidy and have systematic approach
* Flexible, including being prepared to work on Saturdays
