Electrical & Control Panel Design Engineer

Chesterfield (Mansfield, Alfreton, Sheffield, Mansfield, Matlock, Worksop)

£42,000 – £48,000+ Flexitime + 25 Days Holiday + Benefits Package

Electrical Engineer required to design, build, test, fault-find and commission multi-bay electrical control panels that are linked to industrial PCs and PC networks.

The control systems are high speed response and high precision systems, incorporating larger inverter drives (1 to 300 kW), load cells, encoders, high speed bus, DSPs, ADCs & DAC devices all working in conjunction with bespoke PC software. The right candidate must be able to have a good grasp of such a system.

A good grounding of the fundamentals of analogue and digital devices is also important: load cells, encoders, displacement transducers etc.

You will get involved with in house panel builds, machine design, cable schedules generation and planning site wiring. You will manage this process then install and commission the final product.

The Role:

* Design, build, test, fault-find and commission multi-bay electrical control panels that are linked to industrial PCs and PC networks.
* Site work includes commissioning, installation, servicing and wiring
* Overseeing the CAD design of bespoke electrical panels
* PCB design or fault finding
* Commissioning on site although mainly in the UK, could also include foreign travel.

The Candidate:

* Will hold a Technical qualification in Electrical/Controls and Electronics Engineering – ideally BSc/MSc or HND
* Experience of Build, test, fault-find on multi-bay control panels & industrial PCs, including PC networks
* Good appreciation of mechanics of movement & rotating machinery e.g. force, mass, energy, power, acceleration etc….
* Inverter drives experience
* PLC programming is beneficial but NOT essential
* MS Office – would expect high level of spread sheet skills
* Will hold a full and valid UK driving licence and valid Passport and be prepared for infrequent travel involving some stay away.
