My client, a leading manufacturing company based in Newton Abbot, is looking to recruit a Sales Manager to be the main interface between the Company and its customers, identifying and responding to contract enquiries from existing and potential new customers. Responsible for contract negotiations up to a value of circa £500,000 – £1,000,000 annualised. The successful candidate, who would report to the General Manager Sales and Commercial, would be required to produce and maintain sales and order performance statistics in liaison with Accounts and Logistics management. Requirements of the role are as follows:
Main Duties:
• Act as first point of contact for all new and existing customers, ensuring that all customer enquiries and questions are responded to in an effective and timely manner.
• Establish and maintain excellent customer relationships in accordance with relevant legislation, contract law and good practice requirements.
• Carry out effective and timely contract negotiations with the customer for new contracts, NPI and contract variations.
• Manage and maintain the Companies current business portfolio.
• Ensure a top level overview of contract and NPI progress.
• Identify issues and problems arising and report to Senior Management together with proposals and plans to resolve.
• Ensure that the customer is also kept up to date with contract progress and that they are also advised of any deviations to plan or contract requirements and negotiate any necessary changes.
• Act as the ‘voice of the customer’. Identify and report back customer views, issues and concerns on contract performance using relevant and industry wide KPI’s as appropriate.
• Ensure that the customer is also made aware of Company performance against contract requirements and industry benchmarks.
Key skills required:
• Commercially astute with good knowledge of Contract Law
• Proven success in sales in a relevant business environment excellent communication and negotiation skills
