A well-established capital equipment manufacturer, who produce specialist washing machines for the engineering industry, currently seek an experienced Field Service Engineer to join their team.

The equipment is used to clean precision components from hydraulics and engine blocks to turbine blades and sensors. Some of their customers include Rolls Royce, UTC Aerospace, JCB, Perkins, Triumph, Renishaw, SKF, Delphi and McLaren.

The Field Service Engineer will operate from home and service customer`s sites throughout the UK.

Field Service Engineer – Job Role and Responsibilities:

As a Field Service Engineer you will undertake customer service engineering activities. Duties will include machine installations, commissioning, servicing and refurbishment.

These duties will include:

– Preparation for Customer Visits – assist Service Administrator in preparing service parts lists and collation of parts in good time for all servicing activities. Engineers should also collate all necessary documentation such as electrical and pneumatic schematics, manuals, laptops, software, leads and tools etc. necessary for the job.
– Work closely with Design Department and Programmers on new and existing PLC, Commissioning and Fault Finding.
– Undertaking Service duties either as a small team or individually.
– Reviewing issues and requirements with customer staff.
– Undertaking electrical, mechanical and pneumatic maintenance.
– Liaising with colleagues or specialist head office staff where necessary.
– Cleaning and testing machinery.
– Explaining work undertaken to customers and additional guidance.
– Training of Customer Maintenance and Operating Staff.
– Service Visit Reports – Completion of Service Visit Reports at the end of each assignment, summarising work done and parts used.
– Health and Safety – You will be responsible for complying with all company and customer policies, keeping up to date with relevant, current H & S regulations. Courses and training will be provided where necessary.
– General duties as may be reasonably requested from time to time.

Maintenance Engineer – Person Requirements:

You MUST come from a similar background as a Field Service Engineer and have the following skills, qualifications and experience:

– Experience of PLC Diagnostics – Allen Bradley/ Siemens
– 17th edition qualified
– Welding experience preferred but not essential
– Willingness to travel, normally on the road 5 days per week, UK and overseas
– Prepared to spend nights away from home, often at short notice
– Full clean UK driving licence
