We have a great opportunity for an experienced stock controller to join a market leading wholesaler based in Northampton. You will be responsible for taking ownership of the stock control function, ordering, and ensuring sufficient stock levels to satisfy changing demands, trends, and seasonality.
You will need to adopt a hands-on approach to in turn aid goods in and picking efficiencies.

Main Duties:

• Order all stock to satisfy customer demand, whilst keeping stock levels to company standards.
• Ensure accuracy of goods in checking, the checking of delivery notes against po’s, and the accuracy of deliveries being booked onto the system.
• Raising any queries with suppliers in a timely manner.
• Responsible for accurately matching deliveries against invoices and querying any overcharges.
• To manage and provide data to minimise obsolete stock.
• To ensure monthly stock takes carried out in line with policy.
• Investigate and report on discrepancies losses and damages.
• To ensure adequate stock control procedures are in place to protect company assets.
• To continuously review methods and seek ways to implement best practice.
• To evaluate systems and work with Company Distribution Manager to implement best practice.
• Implement cycle count methods with view to reducing number of annual stock takes.
• Responsible for controlling best before dates of all stock and minimising write offs.
• Act as key holder as required for security and fire.
• Cover for depot staff for holiday absences.
• Manage and clear all outstanding pending issues.

The Ideal Candidate:

• Use of Microsoft Excel for spreadsheets and records
• Full use of ‘Trinity’ system and Cyberquery
• Good teamwork skills
• Good communication skills
• Good specialist knowledge of warehousing policies and procedures
• Fork Lift license an advantage
