Salary: £26,000 – £30,420 per year
We are recruiting for a Production Supervisor for an ongoing contract on behalf of our Cambridgeshire based client. You will meet customer requirements with respect to service, quality and cost in a safe environment through optimum use of people, plant, processes and systems. The successful candidate will have a Higher National Certificate in Engineering / Manufacturing. Demonstrated use of six sigma skills or recognised qualification is essential and you will have previous manufacturing experience in a supervisory role. Good PC skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills are also essential. This role is long term.
Main Responsibilities:
* Ensure that all plant processes and activities are Supervised in a manner which maximises team member safety, maximises OSHME rating and complies with all relevant environmental and Health and Safety Legislation
* Actively support the company’s quality and continuous improvement programmes to ensure productivity improvements
* Develop with HR an environment conducive to personal learning and development ensuring all team members are fully informed and equipped to deliver maximum performance
* Monitor and control the team and operating procedures to ensure customer service performance measured through quality, cost and delivery is continuously improved.
* Appraise and evaluate individuals and teams performance, to meet operations needs, to ensure effective and efficient performance
* Plan and supervise department activities, maintaining balanced workloads for the team members, ensuring that appropriate working practices are maintained
* Utilise materials, labour and machinery to achieve the maximum productivity and minimise waste in processes
* Provide support to Operations Manager by attending meetings, providing statistics and information to formulate plans and budgets to meet business plans
* Monitor and control WIP inventory and controls stock accuracy
* Monitor and control consumable spends to ensure Purchase Price Variance is kept to a minimum
* Ensure that all Department staff have the skills necessary to consistently carry out their duties to the required standards
* Via the use of the appropriate mechanisms (including staff awareness training), ensures the departments performance against the relevant Key Performance Indicators is communicated on a regular basis within team briefings
* Liaise with other relevant departments (i.e Sales and Test) to assist in the preparation of an effective and efficient Production Plan for the Department
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
* Higher National Certificate in Engineering / Manufacturing or above
* PC skills
* Demonstrated use of six sigma skills or recognised qualification
* Previous manufacturing experience in a supervisory role
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Good interpersonal skills
* Ability to work on own initiative and proactively drive the business to meet Targets set
