Production Supervisor

Production Supervisor: A hands-on Production Supervisor is required to join an award winning, fast growing, aerospace engineering company specialising in aircraft seating based in Crawley.
This is an addition to the existing supervisory team and looking for a competent, keen Production Supervisor to assist the Production and Planning Manager by supervising a production team on a day to day basis; co-ordinating and motivating them to meet deadlines, work productively and resolve issues effectively.

The Production Supervisor must be a positive and professional team player with excellent leadership and organisational skills, the ability to cope under pressure, and willing to take responsibility for staff, product quality and delivery.

Responsibilities:

– Support and encourage team members in their daily tasks and activities
– Agree the weekly plan and then to be accountable for the communication product quality and delivery within your team
– Proactively remove barriers and resolve issues that prevent the success of the team
– Liaise with the warehouse on parts, bookings, returns and reworks
.- Ensure consumables, tools and equipment are in good working order, available and working correctly
– Ensure that there are adequate numbers of skilled team members relative to the production plan by controlling absences and skills identifying shortfalls in headcount and rectifying as soon as possible
– Ensure holidays and absences are dealt with via the appropriate procedure on People HR
– Control and update the skills matrix
– Organise on the job training and request external training as appropriate
– Control traceability by ensuring paperwork and parts are kept with the correct work order
– Ensure the working area is kept tidy and safe
– Ad hoc tasks as required
