Total Vehicle Solutions Group are experiencing a huge period of growth and have a fantastic order book for 2022 already.

With four sites based across the UK, and over 50 years of combined trading history within the commercial vehicle market, they are synonymous with the design, manufacture and delivery of a wide range of solutions to the construction, logistics and commercial fleet market.

Following a period of investment, and the restructure of the businesses within its group, they are looking to hire a new Buyer to join their dynamic purchasing team.

Based at their site in Wisbech, Cambridgeshire, you will operate across the three sub-divisions of the business and work with the Group Purchasing Manager to purchase a huge variety of engineered parts and ancillary products. This a newly structured procurement team, so the opportunity for the successful candidate to really impact on the role is great, working with both internal stakeholders and suppliers to drive operational excellence.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

– Maintain close control of purchasing for materials. goods and services required by the group, and ensure the best quality, price and delivery in line with KPI’s and departmental metrics

– Look to rationalise requirements and suppliers by establishing group purchasing deals, in conjunction with the GPM.

– Negotiate orders, improve prices and terms with suppliers by reviewing opportunities to make savings using best practice tools and processes

– Build, maintain and manage supplier relationships

– Monitoring and identifying new products and suppliers

– Raise PO’s and deal with invoice queries.

Ideally you will educated to high standard in a business, purchasing or engineering functions (HND/Degree), and have gained a CIPS qualification as part of your development. Proven experience in the engineering or automotive sector would also be preferred, however experience in purchasing things such as metal work, fabrications, hydraulic/pneumatic systems and electrical components would be highly interesting. Strong negotiation skills, coupled with being able to work in a cross-dimensional role, will be expected and will need to be demonstrated as part of the interview process

TVS Group are a fast-paced organisation, with ambitious plans for this year and next, and several companywide modernisation projects currently ongoing. As consequence, individuals who can be dynamic and work without supervision are preferred, mainly due to the need for them to be able to manage several processes at once
