HGV Class 2 Driver

HGV Class 2 driver – The role
– Involves carrying out mainly dedicated collections and deliveries in company vehicles, predominately 18 Ton and occasionally 7.5 Ton vehicles, delivering both locally and nationwide.
– Will include an element of hand-balling goods on and off the vehicle from time to time, but is mostly palletised forklift on / off delivery.
– There will be a requirement to stay out overnight on occasions, on average one or 2 nights a week.
-Overnight stays are remunerated at £20 into wages plus up to £25 for expenses. Saturday and Sunday work also available if interested.

Our clients’ customers are varied and include medical, printing and manufacturing companies. As such, we are looking for someone that understands the importance of:

– Loading and securing goods safely within the vehicle
– Working to deadlines
– Understanding the driver’s hours rules and being able to manage work to stay within the legal limits
– Listening to and following instructions carefully and accurately from the Operations Team
– Being accurate and attentive to completing paperwork
– Maintaining a smart appearance (Uniform will be provided)
– Being polite and professional working with colleagues and Customers

The right candidate will have experience of working within a driving role and be confident in driving 7.5 Ton and 18 Ton vehicles

HGV Class 2 driver – Job requirements:
– Class 2 (C) qualified for AT LEAST 3 years.
– Knowledgeable in driving hours rules
– Flexible attitude (start and finish times vary day to day)
– Good level of spoken and written English essential, plus experience of right hand drive vehicles.

Salary: £26,000per yearstandard, £12.00 overtime (RATES APPLICABLE WHILE WORKING FOR OSDH – Permanent rates to be discussed with client).

We also have occasional Weekend work available:
Saturday – £10.00
Sunday – £14.50
28 days holiday including bank holidays.
