Buyer

Salary: £36,000 – £42,000 per year

Buyer | £30,000 – £35,000 | Buckinghamshire | Main Contractor | Permanent

We are looking for a buyer from the construction industry, ideally with experience in the procurement of materials for interiors and electrical construction projects.

The Buyer will be joining a high quality regional contracting firm who have worked with a great deal of clients over the years to deliver office design, construction and maintenance projects across the South-East.

Strategically placed in Buckinghamshire in close proximity to the M1, the post holder will be working for a progressive business with great accessibility to all of their projects.

Buyer – key responsibilities:

* Working with construction managers on getting best price and materials

* Setting up agreements with distributors and merchants

* Strategic procurement of interiors / electrical products

* Sourcing best price and availability for specialist products

* Working with Project Manager to place major subcontract and call-off orders

* Office based role

Buyer – qualifications, skills and experience:

* Proven experience in a Buyer capacity within the construction sector

* Experience of sourcing materials for refurbishment projects preferred (ceilings, plasterboards etc). M&E expertise would be useful but is not essential as the company already have designated buyers on this side

* Candidates from a builder’s merchant background may fit nicely into this role

* An understanding of construction products and installations

* Solid written and spoken skills
