QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
* Recognised and appropriate trade qualification(s) including Level3 Plumbing to satisfy lead body requirements.
* A teaching qualification or commitment to undertake a recognised teaching qualification.
* An Assessor and/or Internal Verifier award and/or willingness to undertake these qualifications and/or other specialist training qualifications.

EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE
* Teaching experience relating to both the practical and theoretical aspects of the PEO Level 1 Pipefitting Leading to Plumbing & the C&G 6035 Level 2 & 3 Plumbing Technical Certificate.
* Experience of developing learning initiatives, lesson plans, schemes of work and new courses
* Knowledge of the requirements up to and including C&G 6035 level 3 and EAL PEO Plumbing and ideally a working knowledge plumbing related specialism, e.g. Renewable Technologies, STEM, Green Deal, etc.
* Knowledge of Apprenticeship Frameworks.
* Ability to use ICT skills in teaching and learning.
* Sound understanding of Health and Safety.
* Sound understanding of good assessment practice.
* Ability to integrate Functional Skills into the vocational area.
* Ability to employ a range of teaching strategies.

THE ROLE
Reporting to the Curriculum Manager – Construction & Engineering the purpose of the role is to teach and participate in the co-ordination of Plumbing courses. Your areas of responsibility will include:-

Teaching and related activities
You will ensure the progress and success of students by planning, delivering, assessing and moderating plumbing courses. You will be involved in curriculum development and be able to use flexible teaching and learning strategies appropriate to differing abilities and needs. The identification of resource needs, design of courses and their evaluation and formative/summative assessment will also be required.
Pastoral Care
Ensuring the general well being of the students and helping them to develop a sense of self worth and discipline is required as is supervision, personal tutoring and clear communication with students, parents, visitors and colleagues.
Personal Development
To participate in a programme of personal development, staff conferences and staff appraisal, appropriate to both individual, Centre and College needs.

General Duties
* To participate in Open Evenings, Parent/Student Consultation Evenings and other Centre and College events.
* To support the ethos of Harrow College and its marketing and recruitment activities
* To support and implement the College’s Equality & Diversity Policy and to support the College’s commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young adults and vulnerable adults.
* To undertake occasional evening and Saturday work.
* To assist with cover for staff absence.
