Salary: £26,000 per year
Our client is a chartered organisation with 44,000 individual members in 99 countries and is seeking to recruit a Communications Assistant to provide a first class social media, e-communications and online marketing service at its Leicester Head Office.
Reporting to the Media Manager, the successful Communications Assistant – Online Marketing will play an important role in how our client communicates with its members and the outside world. You will be tasked with writing regular targeted bulk emails, e-bulletins, e-shots, newsletters, blogs and social media posts.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone with media or journalism experience who is able to write succinct and informative online and social media copy to the highest standard and who takes great pride in their work.
Your duties as e-Communications Assistant – Online Marketing will include:
* Writing regular targeted bulk emails, e-bulletins, e-shots newsletters, blogs and social media posts, predominantly on Linked-in.
* Supporting editorial staff with writing, copy development, sub-editing and proofreading.
* Providing administrative support to the media team.
* Moderating the organisation’s online content.
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and qualities:
* Proven experience in a similar public relations, media, journalism, publishing, or marketing role with responsibility for writing and moderating social media content, particularly via LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook.
* Ideally hold a degree or equivalent level professional qualification in a relevant subject – e.g. English, media studies, journalism, communications, marketing or publishing.
* A workable knowledge of HTML code and proficiency in Microsoft Excel, particularly able to import and export data.
* Knowledge of Software packages Dreamweaver, Audacity and PowerPoint.
* Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
* Attention to detail, working with care, pride, accuracy and to deadlines.
* Excellent editorial skills with an eye for a good story or news item.
* Knowledge of law and etiquette relating to social media is desirable.
* Experience with, or knowledge of, a Client Management System (CMS) is also desirable.
Salary and reward package:
* Salary: £26,000depending on skills and experience.
