AIG is recruiting for an Analytics Data Model Design Lead.

As the Analytics Data Model Design Lead you will be responsible for the design of high-performance database solutions for analytics on very large volumes of data using both legacy and cutting-edge technology. This is a hands-on role in which rapid, collaborative delivery will be expected in an evolving environment.

You will be expected to:
* Own and maintain a data model supporting complex analytics and data visualisation
* Own and maintain the high level application design documentation of analytics applications
* Translate client requirements into data model and design changes
* Explain, create, maintain and evaluate logical and physical models from scratch as well as take an existing data model and extend & improve it
* Participate in complexity and effort estimations
* Work closely with stakeholders, developers, business analysts and a variety of end users and teams to ensure a design robustness and requirements coverage
* Participation in defects triage
* Building scalable solutions that create great business impact
* Strong and effective communication (both written and verbal) with colleagues and business leaders
* Deliver on commitments and demonstrate openness to new ideas
* Adapt to a constantly changing environment where requirements are loosely defined and are being discovered as the design and build phases progress

You will be able to demonstrate experience of:
* Working with huge data volumes and on design optimization for performance
* Working as an Application Designer, Solution Architect, Data Architect or Data Modeller in a fast paced analytics environment
* End-to-end design of analytics applications
* Advanced SQL skills
* Data modelling tools (e.g. CA Erwin)
* Experience in one or more modelling/machine learning platform such as R, SAS, and Python
* Familiarity with common computing environment (e.g. Linux, Shell Scripting)
* Knowledge of Big Data related techniques (e.g. Map-Reduce, Hadoop, Hive, NoSQL)
* Experience in data modelling (particularly dimensional modelling and OLAP database design)
