Salary: £38,400 – £42,000 per year

MATERIAL PLANNER- GLOBAL CHEMICAL MANUFACTURER

£32,000 to £35,000 + benefits+ Bonus

NEW OPPORTUNITY. This is a challenging role working for a leading Chemical manufacturing business based in the Preston area. Due to year on year growth, the business have restructured their supply chain and as a result they are looking for a driven Material planner to join the successful supply chain team.

The Role

Reporting to head of Supply Chain, the main purpose of the Material planner will be to ensure the management of the Inventory levels and incoming material, Working across all departments to effectively plan, schedule and manage the material & data flow throughout the business for all products. The successful candidate will be expecting to maintain stock accuracy and become integral in ensuring regularly processes such as control cycle counts are taking place.

Material planning & scheduling

Responsible for the maintenance and accuracy of all inventory records

Schedule and initiate Inventory counting and reconciliation process

Manage and control cycle count checks

Developing best strategy for Procurement by liaising across all departments

Manage relationships with current Suppliers and develop new Suppler relationships

Ensure material availability to meet production capability

Developing relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure forecast accuracy.

Managing inventory in line with financial targets.

THE PERSON:

This role is ideally suited to a Material planner with good experience in supplier management, scheduling and inventory control. Key skills for the roles will be as follows;

2 years+ experience of materials planning/ scheduling within an manufacturing environment

A proactive nature and strong analytical, time management and decision making skills

Short & Long Term Forecasting Exposure

Experience in Lean Manufacturing principles and proven experience of involvement in Continuous

improvement would be advantageous

Experienced at using an ERP & MRP system

Degree preferred, but not essential

In addition to this the success of this role is based upon strong, professional communication skills and the ability to drive improvements.
