One of the worlds leading subsea engineering and manufacturing company based in Aberdeen seek to recruit a contracts specialist / contracts engineer to join the growing company. The position of contracts engineer / contracts specialist is a new role due to the expansion and growth of this company. For the position of contracts engineer / contracts specialist you will need substantial experience working within a relevant role in an oil and gas operator/contractor, windfarm or major manufacturing contractual environment
Location – Aberdeen
Salary Guideline – C. £60,000+ benefits
Contracts engineer / contracts specialist role Synopsis-
To primarily assist with the review and negotiation of upcoming and existing contractual terms and conditions with clients and suppliers, as well as other commercial matters such as insurances, bidding process development and risk management.
Contracts Engineer / Contracts Specialist Key Accountabilities-
> Assist in the drafting, review and negotiation of contract terms and conditions for new and existing business to ensure they are qualified and executed in accordance with Company’s contracting guidelines, procedures and strategies, in order to mitigate potential risks and liabilities.
> Support key tendering and project activity as and when required.
> Assist in the development of standard T&Cs, commercial processes and tools.
> Support the coordination and optimisation of the global insurance program.
> Participate in the delivery of training and awareness activities provided to the sales and marketing and business development professionals across the organisation.
> Assist in the development and maintenance of the global Commercial database established within the business.
> As and when required to liaise with other functions and management at all levels, within and outside the region.
> Travel as and when required.
> Any other delegated responsibilities as instructed by line management within the timeframe specified in a safe and efficient manner to meet business requirements. Willing to work out-side regular working hours to meet deadlines.
Contracts specialist / contracts engineer essential:
> Working knowledge of UK oil and gas industry contractual standards (i.e. LOGIC model contracts)
> An understanding of the main liabilities and indemnities that are required to be included in contractor’s contracts
> Degree in business, management, legal or related disciplines.
> Able to demonstrate an enthusiastic approach to resolving problems in a pleasant and articulate manner
