Senior Project Manager (Smart Meter Communications Hub)

The Data and Communications Company (DCC) is delivering a once-in-a-generation programme to build a smart metering network for Great Britain.

Perhaps the most ambitious of its kind in the world, the programme will allow energy suppliers to roll out millions of smart electricity and gas meters to homes and small non-domestic properties. Funded by the energy industry, the network will connect smart meters to the business systems of energy suppliers, network operators and other authorised service users.

The Senior Project Manager works within the Delivery Assurance Directorate to support the delivery assurance organisation in the implementation assurance of Communications Hub, Order Management System and any other related product.

The assurance will involve, but not limited to, greater understanding of the Zigbee, CPA and Protocol certification timelines and processes, the timescales and processes of product assurance and testing and the timescales and processes of manufacturing and delivering of communications hub to DCC testing phases and to industry.

Skills & Experience:

* Product management experience of consumer devices, industrial devices, or high volume consumer electronics

* Product development and operation cycles

* Working knowledge of local wireless networks and wide area wireless networks

* Programme and project assurance

* Risk and issue management

* Strong planning, communication and presentation skills, the capability to listen and influence, and is proficient in project management

* Experience of managing multiple parties and multi-disciplinary teams

* Desirable to have a track record of success in IT, Infrastructure, major industry programme
