Salary: £56,400 – £58,800 per year
We are working on a great opportunity for a Regulatory Accounting Manager to join our Finance department of one of the North West’s largest businesses based in the Warrington area. As Regulatory Accounting Manager, it will be your role to monitor and report the PLC’s financial performance to the city.
You will have responsibility for project managing the preparation of the regulatory accounts and the financial tables in the Annual Performance Report, and the added responsibility of tracking performance against the Regulators final Determination. You will work closely with Economic Regulation and the Finance Business Partners.
Job Accountabilities
* Monitor and report on regulatory performance against final determination – principally via the monthly Performance Report to the Board and for presentation to the Executive via the Quarterly Business Reviews
* Produce regulatory accounts and project manage the process, to complete and collate the financial tables for inclusion in the Annual Performance Report.
* Update Finance Business Partners on relevant changes in the Regulatory Accounting Guidelines
* Develop business wide guidance (in conjunction with Economic Regulation) to ensure that changes to the RAGs are interpreted consistent across the company.
* Liaise with the external auditors to facilitate the audit of the regulatory accounts.
* Maintain up-to-date cost allocation methodologies within the Cost Perform system.
* Principal user of the CostPerform system – provision of cost allocation information on a timely basis to Finance Business Partners.
Knowledge and Skills
* Graduate, fully qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with some post qualification experience.
* Systems experience, including SAP and BPC.
* Detailed business understanding and background knowledge of the company and water industry.
* Current and demonstrable technical knowledge of IFRS.
* High degree of integrity and a willingness to challenge.
* The ability to work autonomously and as part of a team, meeting tight deadlines under pressure.
* Strong analytical and presentational skills.
* Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
* Ability to drive for continuous improvement.
