Remote DevOps and Azure / Cloud Engineer

Salary: £600 – £690 per day

Remote DevOps and Azure / Cloud Engineer required to work for my client who is based in North London.

Please NOTE; even though this position is remote, you will be expected to go into my client’s HQ one day a month. Maybe more if required…? So you must be commutable from your home to North London.

DevOps and Azure Cloud engineer, day-to-day you will:

• Explore options, make recommendations and help manage migration to cloud services.
• Mentor and support other system administrators in cloud technologies.
• Work closely with development teams, DBA’s, architects and environment owners to design, plan and build infrastructure to meet business requirements
• Document and maintain the configuration of Linux systems.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot system problems.
• Implement and configure new technologies that benefit the business or IT functions.
• Implement, manage and maintain Internet services such as DNS and MX records; PGP Keys Servers etc…
• Provide support, on a best efforts basis, for DB and Middleware systems and platforms.

Skills required:

• 3/4 years + DevOps & Azure Cloud experience
• Production experience with Container Orchestration (Kubernetes)/production experience utilising Infrastructure as code automation (Terraform)/configuration management experience (Ansible)
• experience of building systems that facilitate CI/CD
• used Git version control and branching strategies
• practical experience with monitoring tools (ELK, Grafana)
• familiarity with the Microsoft Azure Well-Architected Framework
• excellent Communication and troubleshooting skills
• excellent Scripting skills (Bash/Python/Go)
