Salary: £60,000 – £78,000 per year
Our market leading client is looking to secure the services of a Platform Engineer / DevOps Software Engineer to join their development team on a permanent basis.
As the Platform Engineer / DevOps Software Engineer, you will be part of the platform team responsible for creating and maintaining the infrastructure used by the Software Development Department. You support build tooling and self-service systems so the development team can build and maintain their applications. Also, take action to respond to incidents affecting the infrastructure to ensure that uptime SLAs are maintained. You will be part of an agile team working with a Kanban workflow.
Key responsibilities of a Platform Engineer / DevOps Software Engineer will include:
* Carrying out maintenance and day-to-day support of in-house finance systems across all entities. Systems used are Replicon, Coupa, NetSuite and others as requested
* Managing end-user queries and triage incidents as necessary
* Evaluating, designing, planning, implementing and testing new requirements with in-house team
* Developing solutions to improve/automate financial processes
* Ensuring Finance systems documentation is maintained and up to date, including user guides for the administration team
* Involvement in the Finance ERP system optimisation and development
* Providing and developing reports for user requirements
* Supporting the end-user training requirements
* Providing support to the wider Finance function with system processes
* Troubleshooting and resolving a range of detailed systems issues
* Supporting ERP interfaces
Knowledge, skills & experience of a Platform Engineer / DevOps Software Engineer:
Essential
* AWS Certified (SysOps Administrator, Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer or equivalent)
* Understanding of creating CI/CD pipelines
* Experience with Event Driven Architecture
* Experience with Ansible
* Knowledge of creating infrastructure as code
* Knowledge of agile working practices
* Understanding of networking
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Able to work well within a team setting
* Excellent organisation skills – able to efficiently manage a demanding workload
Desirable
* Experience with Hashicorp Packer and Terraform
* Experience with Kafka
* Experience with Jenkins
* Experience with Python, PHP/Laravel
* Experience with Fargate & Kubernetes
* Experience of working with Kanban methodology
