About them:
My client is a well-established, global trader operating from multi million pound premises in the Mansfield area of Nottingham. They are a family owned business with solid values and many of their workforce stay at the company for the whole of their career.
Overview:
Working in collaboration with the Senior Web Developer and Creative Marketing department to enhance the development and future direction of the corporate websites whilst providing support for all internal and external web-related functions.
Duties:
Writing and developing website modules to expand and enhance website functionality to include:
- Specifying website module requirements;
- Working in collaboration with the Creative Marketing department to create graphic designs including the conversion of graphic designs into working web code;
- Testing code and writing automated tests;
- Deploying code using Git;
- Enhancing, maintaining, and bug-fixing existing website modules.
Writing code through a variety of methods including web API’s and bash scripting to interface with internal systems & databases.
Maintaining the Creative Marketing email database & system using OpenEMM.
Respond to internal users using Zen Desk for website support issues.
Testing and evaluating new technologies.
Identifying and seeking out new opportunities for improvement to internal systems.
Keeping up to date with new and changing technologies both internal to the company and in the wider world of IT web development
Person Specification:
Technical Skills:
- Minimum 3 years Web Development experience
- of using the following languages: PHP, HTML5, Javascript (including JQuery), and CSS, Python and bash scripting would be useful.
- Experience of using a PHP Framework – Yii2 or similar
- Experience of using the MYSQL database or similar
- Experience of using Linux OS (Centos 7) or similar with an understanding of Linux command line usage and ability to conduct basic system maintenance
- Experience of using Source Control Git or similar
- The ability to identify and develop a strong website through a responsive design and layout
- Ability to think creatively and bring ideas to the table
- Ideally holds a relevant IT qualification
- Excellent planning skills and the ability to respond to time frames and deadlines by managing own workload
- Able to adapt to change at short notice
- Clear and confident communication skills both written and verbal

Other Information:
- Monday to Friday. The start and finish times are flexible between 8am – 9am and 4.30pm – 5.30pm
- Remote working available – ideally with an office catch up every now and again
