World leading IT company are looking for x2 Storage Engineers for an initial 7 month contract based in Erskine. The role is for someone who is skilled in SAN Storage but also has a broad knowledge of all storage technoligies. You must be eligible for SC Clearance as well

Knowledge and Skills

+ Robust background and deep and broad knowledge of enterprise IT including comfortable working at the command-line level in several operating systems including Microsoft server and Unix/Linux flavours and has sufficient depth and breadth of technical knowledge to design and scope multiple deliverables across a number of technologies, although day-to-day role will be more consultative, using this knowledge base

+ Deep understanding of distributed storage and/or backup and familiar with several of the major enterprise levels of storage platform and/or backup software packages

+ Advise, design and architect advanced storage solutions using the following skills:

+ Advanced storage manipulations using advanced array features demonstrating an expert level of storage functionality and performance tuning of the array and the SAN network

+ Advance configuration of a backup server for advanced tuning and functionality, and use advanced features of the backup product

+ Advanced configuration of storage related software

+ Advise and engineer other storage, backup and archiving related products

+ Ability to develop solutions that enhance the availability, performance, maintainability and agility of a particular customer’s enterprise. Has contributed to the design and application of new tools. Ability to build upon existing experience to develop new solutions to take to market.

+ Strong commercial focus and understanding of the market

+ Lead a team of project assigned resources for Storage and Backup, taking ownership of this area in the assignment including appropriate investigation and discovery, both technical and personal with customer area, to develop and deliver the architectural solution

+ Authoring and senior approval of technical documentation from the team’s system

+ Lead and counsel a team in various project delivery tasks such as project meetings with customers and vendors, environment discovery tasks, larger scale storage deliveries, designs, migrations and implementations

+ Test and engineer release of new technologies and versions of products / software

+ Full understanding and consideration of the customer release and change control process

+ Provide estimates for advanced and major project delivery

+ Demonstrates broad knowledge in other technical areas in order to properly manage complex integration efforts. Demonstrates application of technical expertise in successful engagements involving multiple disciplines.

+ Ability to present within own area of expertise as part of a customer technical sales presentation, putting forward storage-specific information within the context of an HP sales campaign to present a unified end to end enterprise solution

+ Ability to work across multiple disciplines with the ability to diagnose complex technical problems to their root cause

+ Maintain bleeding edge technology expertise and be seen as the storage expert and strategist by the customer
