A national contractor seeks to appoint a Site Engineer to join their Regional Office.
The company are Regeneration specialist providing new build and refurbishment solutions for communities UK wide. Their projects range from house building (local authority and private), other local authority works, neighbourhood refurbishments, retirement living and sustainable works.

Site Manager Role
Reporting to the Technical Manager you will be involved on schemes throughout the business providing technical, organizational and supervisory knowledge where Site Engineering is required-whether initially at site set up stage or during the construction process
Have responsibility for the management of health and safety on site and organisation and supervision of materials and resources
Provide site engineering support to teams as and when required.
Responsibilities include:
- Provide technical advice and support on site coordinating between operatives, subcontractors and designers alike.
- Provide site Setting out for buildings/foundations infrastructure and the like and monitor as built
- Carry out initial topographical surveys of proposed site checking proposed coordinates for setting out and accuracy and building footprint will meet site boundary
- Provide support and monitor remediation works that may be carried out on site
- Checking of plans/drawings and quantities for accuracy.
- Monitor works against construction drawings-ie Rebar installation and scheduling
- Ensure that drawings are up to date and that relevant subcontractors/designers have the appropriate and latest information
- Prepare any reports that may be required and present where necessary
- Ensure that works are carried out in accordance with current Health and Safety legislation, policies and procedures
- Day to day management of subcontractors and works on site where necessary (ie groundworks/remediation and frame sub-contractors), monitoring progress and coordination with other trades.
- Liaise with any consultants, subcontractors, supervisors, planners, quantity surveyor and general workforce involved in the scheme.
- Liaise with local authority (Building Control) to ensure compliance with regulations and approval
- Communicate with clients/design team and their representatives and attend meetings reporting on progress, site issues as required
- Resolve any technical queries that may arise on site-providing clear evidence for reasoning
- Plan and coordinate labour/plant and materials with subcontractors to ensure that projects are delivered on time and in budget.
- Ensure that all relevant paperwork and record keeping is accurate and up to date (whether this be inspections/quality control/handover and the like)
- Ensure that correct materials are being used in accordance with specifications
- Produce Inspection and test plans with relevant subcontractors – maintain and monitor population
- Working site Project/Site Manager produce short term look ahead programmes for works on site
- Record and allocate time against projects worked on

- Strong communication skills-both written and oral, able to liaise with other members of the team, architects, designers and the like in a professional manner

- Strong team working skills and able to work remotely at times during initial site establishment

- IT literate
- Understanding of current Building and health and safety legislation
- Current driving license-will be expected to attend sites across the business.
- Hold CSCS Card and SMSTS/SSSTS
