Salary: £26,000 per year

Our Client is a leading Housing Association that provide more than 9,000 affordable homes in 22 local authority areas in Kent, Sussex, Surrey and South London.

They are currently recruiting for a Handyperson for a 9 month fixed term contract, to work as part of the contracts and Compliance team, providing a customer focused Handy Person service to both Sheltered Housing and vulnerable general needs tenants and to provide support to our caretaking and repairs services. This is a full time post for 37 hours per week.

Key objectives:
Undertake Handy Person /DIY tasks within agreed timescales once referrals have been approved.
Carry out allocated tasks in accordance with to guidance set out in risk assessments, tool box talks and organisation Health & Safety policy and procedure.
Issue satisfaction surveys upon completion of each job.
Carry out inspections of communal areas in line with Organisations Procedures
Work in conjunction with Support and Community Support Officers to identify vulnerable residents who require Minor disabled adaptions.
Assist our repairs contractor in carrying out void decorations during busy periods.
Assist our appointed contractors with responsive and planned repairs.
Provide practical support during the decanting process, namely assistance with move, disconnection and connection of services, assistance with curtains and shelving.
Work with our caretaking team to provide services on our estates
Clean communal areas not covered by the cleaning program.
Undertake basic, intermediate and rolling training according to need and within the definition of the service.
In periods of inclement weather clear snow and ice from sheltered accommodation footpaths.
Put up and maintain minor disabled adaptations in our sheltered and lifetime home units

Requirements:

Similar experience a must.
