About my client:

Cawingredients were established in 2010 and are fast becoming one of the UK’s largest private drinks manufacturing businesses. They are based in Leeming Bar and now have the facilities to manufacture both bottling and canning solutions for their wide of range of diverse clients.

The Opportunity:

After successfully building a solid leadership team they are now keen to develop and nurture new talent and feel that their newly founded academy offers emerging career aspiring individuals the perfect platform to forge a successful career within their business.

You will learn how to operate various robotic machinery as well as a variety of Forklift Trucks and other warehousing systems. You will learn advanced level warehouse operation methods as well as how to operate safely in a fast-moving consumable goods environment.

Job Title: Warehouse Academy Operative
Location: Leeming Bar
Salary: £26,400 – £30,000per annum
Hours: 3-week shift rotation, Monday to Friday (6 till 2, 2 till 10 and 10 till 6)

Duties:

Meet defined milestones as part of an agreed Training Framework.

Operate powered industrial pallets trucks to load and unload materials.

Organise orders for distribution and move them to and from storage areas, machines and loading docks, into railroad cars or trucks or storage facilities.

Checking that loads are secure.

Perform daily equipment checks and Pre-Use Checks.

Perform basic maintenance tasks such as recharging vehicle batteries, topping-up battery fluid levels, lubricating equipment and other preventative maintenance as required.

Examine products to verify conformance to quality standards.

Fulfil and complete all procedural requirements and paperwork.

Keep the warehouse, working areas and grounds clean and tidy at all times.

Take reasonable care of the health and safety of yourself and of others who may be affected by what you or those working in your area do or do not do.

Promote a culture of co-operation with regards to health and safety matters and lead by good example at all times.

Use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.

Report vehicle faults, and missing or damaged company property – bring these to the attention of your reporting manager or supervisor immediately.

Follow procedures and risk assessments, highlighting non-compliance immediately and follow up on any corrective action.

Carry out instructions on safety notices and hazard signs and challenge others to follow the same.

Follow COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) regulations on the correct usage of all chemicals.

Adopt a ‘clean as you go’ policy, in which you and your team clean the work area and any equipment you have used when the task is completed.

Follow and lead by example to ensure all site hygiene rules are maintained.

Ensure procedures are followed, appropriate documentation is completed and non-conformances are highlighted and addressed at the time of reporting.

Maintain traceability of all finished stock in the warehouse.

Support food safety to ensure compliance with company, governmental and customer requirements and expectations

Requirements:

Ability to work unsupervised and often in a time pressured environment
