Blogger, Content Writer and Digital Marketing

ABOUT THE ROLE
An exciting opportunity has arisen in a small e-commerce business based in Southend-on-Sea, Essex. We are currently recruiting for a Content Writer and Blogger who will be responsible for handling the digital marketing side of our business.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, self motivated, hard working individual who, with good use of the English language, is able to research and write interesting articles / blogs relevant to our customer base on a regular basis. The blogs will need to be engaging and supported with good use of images. Working alone to meet deadlines and delivering unique content in a timely fashion is imperative. Additionally we would expect any applicant to be passionate about writing.

The successful candidate will be expected to publish the content through social media channels and provide timely interaction. Therefore a good understanding of how to use social media is an essential part of this role.

This role also involves running social media competitions and updating the website with new images and product content.

The candidate will receive the full support of the management team and will be expected to work within a specific framework which they will be provided with. This role will evolve and so the successful candidate will need to be adaptive and enthusiastic in taking on new challenges as the role develops.

The role will be on a 6 month contract including a 1 month probation period. This is a new digital marketing post and there maybe an opportunity for this role to be extended at the end of the 6 month contract.

This role is for 30 hours per week at a rate of £26,000 per year. The working hours are 9am to 3pm Monday to Friday although there maybe a possibility of a slightly more flexible working pattern.

WHAT IS EXPECTED
The successful candidate will be required to:
Write and publish regular blogs with unique engaging content
Research and be open minded to new content ideas
Well organised and structured in planning their work
Promote the business through Social Media Channels including maintaining social interaction and running competitions
Write content for the website as and when required
Work alone and be capable of following specific instructions
Meet deadlines and deliver unique content in a timely fashion
Be enthusiastic, adaptive, self motivated and hard working

SKILLS REQUIRED
The preferred skills and experience are:
Ability to write frequent engaging content
Researching content ideas
Excellent communication skills and can speak/write fluent English
Experience of using Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram, Google, You Tube
Basic knowledge and understanding of SEO
Good computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel and Outlook
Experience in editing images including cropping and resizing is an advantage
Experience with Photoshop is an advantage
Experience in photography is also an advantage
