My friendly, expanding client are seeking to recruit an Operations Manager to work within their successful Ripley site. This role will partner and support the Site Director in developing their successful and growing business. They are seeking a career driven individual looking to step up to Director level within 18 months to 2 years.
To be considered for this role you will have been working at the heart of a manufacturing business. They are seeking a multi talented individual who has been involved with the MRP / planning / purchasing systems and who has had experience of the Quality function i.e. audits, writing SOPs, implementing procedures, training and performance measurement.
This is a great opportunity for someone who is experienced and seeking a future Directorship.
Overall Purpose:
To manage the Operations Team with responsibility for planning, purchasing and material control from receipt through to dispatch, and to run and maintain the MRP System. Additionally to oversee the Quality function and administer training.
Key Duties:
* To run and maintain the MRP system ensuring accurate data input to set up parts and BOMs and ensuring adherence by all staff to all procedures that involve the system.
* To manage the Planning and Purchasing function starting with raising Works Orders and then Planning and Purchasing for the business and finally issuing works orders and all associated documentation to the production team.
* To manage the Material Control team ensuring all material is controlled from point of receipt into the warehouse, the raising of GRNs and control through production and into finished goods and for on time in full dispatch to customers.
* To oversee the Quality function including the design and maintenance of the QS, performing company wide audits, producing Corrective actions reports, generating procedures and handling BRC and other external audits.
* To ensure adherence to all procedures and systems company wide and to develop new systems and procedures to improve the performance of the business
* To administer the training system ensuring that individuals have been properly trained.
* To deliver rigorous cost control to meet the financial targets
* To partner and support the Site Director in developing our growing business
Skills and Experience:
* Solid management background with manufacturing.
* Experienced with MRP / planning / purchasing systems
* Experienced in Quality functions i.e. audits, writing SOPs, implementing procedures, training and performance measurement.
* Career driven and seeking for this role to lead to a Directorship.
* Confident and pro-active
* Accuracy and attention to detail.
* An ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.
* Professional, highly organised, articulate, self-motivated, team player, customer facing.
