The Role

Reporting to the Plant Director you will have full autonomy to manage the day to day Operations of a Tier 1 Automotive Plant in the North West area. Key tasks are to further implement a lean manufacturing strategy with the team, in balance with consistently achieving the targets in terms of cost, quality, safety and delivery. You will manage across all Production, Engineering, Manufacturing and MPL operations.

The Person

We are looking to recruit an Operations Manager for our Automotive client based in Coventry who can lead, motivate and challenge a team in a highly pressurised, fast paced 1st Tier environment. It is essential that you are from an automotive background experienced in supplying in to an OEM environment with short lead times. Experience of assemly operations would be preferable but not essential though experience of automotive (TS16949) is essential.

This role will involve some real challenges in terms of managing robust teams, supporting business growth, achieving Manufacturing and Production output targets and delivery, coaching and training. You should have experience of leading large Production and Manufacturing teams and will have preferably gone in to Operations through Production Management. You must be comfortable working in highly unionised environments. Ideal candidates will be of degree calibre and qualified in engineering and manufacturing subject.
