NPD Engineer

Job Description

As a New Product Design Engineer you will be;
•A qualified Design Engineer with relevant experience to join and work as part of the design and development team, this will involve working on a variety of projects.
Reporting to the product manager, the applicant should have a good engineering background ideally within the furniture industry, with a strong working knowledge of Solid Works or a similar 3D CAD package.

•Producing manufacturing drawings and liaising with colleagues on the shop floor and with the client

•Thinking ‘outside of the box’ to solve engineering and manufacturing issues which can arise and having the ability to act and react quickly in all situations

•Taking effective instructions from both suppliers and clients in order to deliver the project within the set timeframes

The Successful Applicant

To be considered for the role, you will need to be proficient in the following;

•A relevant engineering degree HND/HNC
•Previous knowledge of plastic mouldings, castings, metal fabrication/tubular steel, extruding and the use of rapid prototyping techniques is necessary.
•A proven track record in product design using 3D CAD and outputting 2D engineering drawings will be required
•Have the ability to work with a team of designers and on your own initiative
•Able to develop effective working relationships with the team and with clients
•Excellent communication and time management skills
