Role
Our client is looking to add a Senior Composites Design Engineer to their small talent engineering team with extensive composite and Design knowledge. You will take ownership of a number of Design Projects from blue sky thinking into production. Also responsible for:
Transform ideas into real products and solutions,
Plan, manage and coordinate the execution of composite engineering projects
Study design brief and develop possible composite design solutions
Ensure that products can be made cost effectively and efficiently
Study, research & develop ideas for new composite products and the processes
Provide composite engineering support to other departments
Composite subject matter expert
Modify existing products and processes to increase efficiency or improve performance
DFA
Supply drawings & 3D modelling using CAD/ Solidworks
Create prototypes
Collect and analyse data
Modify and retest designs
Write regular progress reports and present them
QC procedures & assist inspection
Work with projects
Manage subcontractors
Develop a thorough understanding of business products and processes
Assist workshop for assembly or manufacture of parts where required
Person
ESSENTIAL
Qualified to HND/Degree level in an engineering discipline
8-10 years’ experience
Strong composite material experience
Hands on development of materials
Solidworks CAD Systems
Able to work on multiple projects
Felxible and adaptable to work with range of external clients
Ambitious and innovative
Must possess a sound knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and product design processes
Commercial awareness
Excellent IT skills (Solidworks and MS Office)
DESIRABLE
Aerospace experience, AS9100
Management, leadership or the desire to lead would be an advantage
