Synthetic Chemist

Are you an experienced Synthetic Chemist, with excellent problem solving and analytical skills? Do you have previous experience of chromatographic techniques? Are you conscientious and meticulous in your approach to laboratory work? If so this could be the role for you!

Purpose
The Synthetic Chemist is required to utilise knowledge, expertise and capability in the preparation of products and co-ordination of work in the manufacture of our products.

The Role
• Apply technical knowledge and skills, manufacturing and operational experience, in order to achieve manufacturing objectives and priorities.
• To devise safe, effective, and efficient routes for synthesis of required products.
• Advise on technical decision making at quotation stage.
• To address technical problems, and to lead and direct with problem solving as necessary to ensure resolution.
• To actively participate in the improvement initiatives by constantly reviewing working methods so that preparation reliability and safety standards can be improved.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation.
• Process, record and transfer waste according to documented procedures.
• Participate directly in technical discussions with external customers where required.

Qualifications and Experience
• Degree in Chemistry and relevant practical experience
• Experience as a practising synthetic organic chemist
