CMA Executive are delighted to be partnering with this Private Equity backed food production business head quartered in Chichester, who due to retirement, are seeking to appoint a Finance Director. This appointment comes at an exciting time for the business, as they embark on an ambitious organic and acquisitive growth strategy. The intention is to double the size of the business, from its current £40m t/o, through increase production capability both in the UK and Internationally.
The Finance Director will play an important role in supporting the CEO to execute on this strategy, providing critical insight on opportunities, positive and constructive challenge to the Board and wider leadership team and take a lead in the operational and cultural transformation required to support this.
What will the role involve?
- The Finance Director will be a member of the Exec and the Ownership Board;
- Be responsible for all staff within the Finance and IT departments in both UK & overseas;
- Provide accurate and timely reporting of the company’s financial performance;
- Lead the development of both the annual budget and 5-year strategic plan for the company;
- Lead with the CEO, facilitation of the cash requirements of the business both in the short and longer term;
- Take a lead in M&A activity;
- Liaise with external organisations such as banks, auditors, tax advisors, suppliers, customers, producer organisation and other service providers;
- Ensures that administration of business activities is guided by clear policies, authorisation limits, processes, and controls;
- Oversee the company’s overall information systems to support the business agenda.
Suitable Candidate:
The successful candidate will create a high quality, positive team representing finance as an integral part of the business. It is expected that you will be a qualified accountant with experience in a relevant FMCG environment, ideally in food or agriculture. You will possess strong technical knowledge with commercial acumen, understanding the key value drivers and have strong leadership qualities, a willingness to challenge with well-developed strategic awareness.
