As Lead Engineer you’ll be responsible for developing and managing a team of Engineers. You’ll develop the capability of your team by coaching and sharing your knowledge in a continuous professional development environment.

 

You’ll ensure your team are executing their backlog and there is a high quality of product being produced for our customers. Alongside managing the team, you’ll spend no more than 40% of your weekly hours executing the backlog.

 

Key responsibilities include:

Managing a team of Engineers to develop and deliver the Bespoke product to customers as per their backlog, in support of business strategy and revenue commitments, in an efficient and high-quality manner.
Driving improvements in team output, providing coaching, feedback and instructions as necessary to maintain high performance and drive continuous improvement.
Analysing productivity data to understand team inputs and outputs and support team members with individual performance accordingly.
Advising and assisting the ZCS Consultants and customers in analysing the requirements for Bespoke and future funded Core developments.
Collaborating with Product Managers to ensure the successful execution and seamless delivery of funded core developments within a Core release.
Collaborating with Bespoke Manager to implement the use of Azure DevOps (ADO) for Bespoke developments and delivery.
Managing the resolution of defects quickly and effectively, liaising with Engineers in the team as well as the Bespoke Manager and other Lead Engineers (where applicable) to coordinate activity across the team.
Representing the team in weekly meeting with Bespoke Manager, using these as an opportunity to clear obstacles to the team’s progress and success.
Organising and contributing to monthly Bespoke team meetings; attend Shiproom where necessary to represent funded Core items allocated to a release.
Acting as a mentor within the team promoting best practice to continually raise standards and challenge team members to look for their own solutions.
Effectively communicating new ideas, designs and achievements in Engineering meetings and presenting to the Bespoke Manager.
Appropriately flagging any issues and plans to address to the Bespoke Manager to demonstrate ownership of resolution.
Working closely with other teams as necessary to enhance processes and solutions required for management and release of Bespoke products within a release.
Taking responsibility for delivering Bespoke projects on schedule to achieve the monthly revenue goals.
Skills and experience

Current experience working as an Engineer, supporting Zellis customers with the development of Bespoke requirements and solutions.
Solid all-round knowledge of ResourceLink.
An approachable and supportive leader, focused on improving quality and performance standards as well as collaborative team working.
A natural coach and problem solver, skilled at helping team members find their own answers and sharing best practices and achievements with other team members.
Desire to continuously drive improvements across the team, utilising the appropriate data sets and feedback from the Bespoke Manager.
