The Product & Process Engineer will take ownership of the site and maintain a safe working environment by always implementing and adhering to Health and Safety procedures. This will include the management of contractors via Control of Work, inducting visitors onto sites and mitigating and resolving hazards as they arise.

Commercially, you will drive for the optimisation of all processes to minimise operational costs and meet out performance targets.

What skills are we looking for?

Our large Wastewater Treatment Works contain a range of complex processes and control systems, so you will need to be able to demonstrate that you can learn technical processes and be able to problem solve and drive process improvements.

You will be able to prioritise your own workload and be proactive in taking ownership of site issues. You will be able to work effectively in a team and be comfortable using a wide range of IT systems.

This is a key operational role where you will be carrying out manual handling duties, working at heights and dealing with raw sewerage.

This role covers several wastewater treatments works, and will include travel across and between sites, therefore you are required to have a full valid UK driving license (no more than 6 points).

We treat Yorkshire’s wastewater; therefore, our assets are operational 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Therefore, you will be expected to work within a self-covering 7-day working pattern, working weekends on a rota, providing 07:00 to 19:00 on-site cover. Once fully trained you will also take part in an operational out of hours rota which provides emergency cover for issues that arise outside of the contractual working window weekend working will be expected as part of the role with compensatory rest days applied to accommodate this.

As part of this role, you will be required to work within confined spaces, any successful candidate must pass strict medical criteria including, BMI, vision, blood pressure, hearing, and Spirometry tests to ensure your full safety when working in hazardous environments.
