Workshop Manager – Joinery

Salary: £42,000 – £48,000 per year

We are delighted to be supporting a Bedfordshire employer in their search for a Workshop Manager – Joinery to join their business as they move into the next stage of their business plan.

As Workshop Manager, this senior role will report directly to the Projects Director and will be responsible for managing and supervising staff in a joinery manufacturing workshop. The majority of the direct workload is the manufacture of doorsets.

What to expect within the role:

• Delegate workload and manage the manufacturing team
• Prepare cutting lists, material lists and ordering materials
• Generate production schedules
• Ability to work from and produce CNC programs and CAD drawings
• Understand woodworking machinery, CNC machinery and tools
• Ensure workloads are completed within set timescales and delivery dates are met
• Maintain quality control awareness
• Provide technical support on the manufacturing of products
• Use your own initiative, work independently and as a team

Requirements

Knowledge, skills and experience of a Workshop Manager – Joinery 

• Proven background of managing a joinery workshop
• Proven background in joinery/ carpentry (ideally time-served)
• Full knowledge of H&S requirements
• Expert knowledge in joinery production
• Working knowledge of workshop equipment, tools, machine and safety equipment
• Planning and programming skills
• NVQ L3 (or equivalent) in a relevant subject
• Commercial awareness
• Full knowledge and understanding of all aspects of joinery manufacturing and production
• Clear communication skills both orally and written (English)
• IT literate
