Wheel Loader Operative

SUMMARY

Operate the shovel loader to move, relocate, stack, count and unload product. Operate different shovels in the pre-processing area. Efficient transportation of loads to appropriate storage areas, minimising contamination where possible. Load outgoing trucks. Movement of material in the stock area ready for loading. Stacking product in the correct storage area.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

* Keeping the work place area clean and tidy.

* Working in accordance to the Company’s health and safety, environmental and other standards as they apply to the process.

* Movement of material.

* Carry out daily checks in accordance with company procedures and site working plan.

* Maintaining standard operating procedures as required.

* Inspects shovel loaders for defective parts and notifies supervisor of defects or malfunctions.

* Perform routine maintenance work such as cleaning and lubricating of shovel loaders.

* Perform routine maintenance work such as cleaning and lubricating of refining equipment.

* Maintain a clean, neat and orderly work area.

* Use radio frequency equipment as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

* Hold a current and valid shovel loader licence.

* A responsible and mature attitude to work.

* The ability to work quickly and safely especially during busy periods.

* The ability to assess weights and judge distances and heights.

* The ability to follow written instructions and keep records.

* An awareness of health & safety.

PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES

* Good physical coordination to operate a shovel loader.
