Our client a global organisation are looking for a Welding / Engineering Lead Specialist

Job Overview
To provide technical leadership and operational direction for the EC Directives business acting as the focal point for both internal and external clients.
Job Responsibilities
Manage and have overall responsibility for the service delivery of the EC Directives to meet compliance with organisational and accredited standards and procedures
Manage the technical review process for EC Directives including PED, TPED, interfacing with company to meet compliance with organisational and accredited standards and procedures
To undertake initial QMS assessments and audits in line with EC Directives, ISO standards and company requirements for internal and external customers
To undertake surveys and inspections of new and used plant, materials and equipment including pressure equipment and its related requirements to internal and external customers
To undertake specialist design appraisals / reviews as directed by company Energy
To design and deliver EC Directive training to internal and external clients in line with organisational processes, standards and accredited requirements
Develop and manage notices and updates to ensure a consistent and compliant application of the EC Directive by internal and external clients
To provide technical support on EC Directives to internal and external clients in line with standards detailed in the company Energy Service Charter
Authorised to sign off EC Directives certificates and EC Directive Agreements in line with organisational and accredited standards and procedures
To technically develop other employees, as appropriate and disseminate information to achieve effective knowledge transfer and application
To ensure that activities are conducted in line with internal procedures, accreditation schemes, legislation and industry standards
May manage work within a discipline and ensure it is in accordance with management system requirements, cost structures and budgetary/contractual requirements
Job Requirements
Shall possess a relevant Bachelor’s degree from a recognised university or equivalent
Likely to be Chartered Engineer, Professional Engineer or equivalent
Shall possess sufficient relevant previous working experience as a technical leader to demonstrate comprehensive understanding of the relevant specialist requirements, knowledge and application
Thorough knowledge of materials, welding and pressure vessel construction codes, particularly PD 5500 and ASME Section VIII
Knowledge and understanding of EC Directives e.g. PED 97/23/EC, including the performance of unexpected visits as authorized and detailed in the company Resource Database
Authorised to deliver company or equivalent QMS assessments
Experience in delivering technical training to all types of clients
MNDE Qualifications or PCN qualifications in the requirements and use of NDE techniques
Good working knowledge of IT, including Word, Access, Excel and outlook
Thorough knowledge of materials, welding and pressure vessel construction
Experienced in pressure equipment design methodologies
