Welding Engineer Swansea Up to £45k

Progressive Engineering and a Major Engineering & Manufacturing OEM in Heavy Process Solutions for the Oil & Gas, Energy, Petrochemical & Energy Industries are looking to recruit a Welding Engineer for their Manufacturing HQ near Swansea, owing to succession planning, business growth & project pipeline for 2024-26+.

Based near Swansea and reporting into the Quality Manager, the Welding Engineer will be responsible for the effective implementation of the company’s welding needs and day-to-day welding matters

Specifically, the Welding Engineer will be responsible for:

  • Create and maintain weld procedures.
  • Organise weld procedure and welding qualifications.
  • Qualification of new welders to new and existing weld procedures.
  • Maintain welder qualification prolongation.
  • Create and review Weld Maps.
  • Select appropriate weld procedures for production.
  • Liaise directly with the client and internal departments with regards to welding engineering requirements.
  • Ensure that all allocated work scopes are fully compliant with the ISO 3834-2 standard.

Qualification & Experience Required for Welding Engineer role:

  • Prior experience as a Welding Engineer, preferably in a pressure equipment, manufacturing environment.
  • Qualified IWE (International Welding Engineer) or EWE (European Welding Engineer)with a plan to attain IWE.
  • Experience of working with BS EN ISO 15614-1 and ISO 3834-2 standards.
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Office 365.
  • Certified Welding Inspector – CSWIP 3.1 or PCN Welding Inspector Level 2.
  • Experience working within an ASME ‘S’ & ‘U’ stamp quality system.
  • Ability to read and analyse 3.1 material certification.

For the successful Welding Engineer, a salary up to £45,000 is on offer and this Welding Engineer role is commutable from Swansea, Llanelli, Port Talbot, Porthcawl, Bridgend, Neath, Aberdare, Llandeilo, Penderyn, Seven Sisters, Ammanford & Pen-y-Cae.
