Salary: £30,000 – £42,000 per year
Senior welder and fabricator for a London metal workshop specialising in decorative metalwork for high-end architects, interior designers and hospitality venues. Experience of fabricating decorative metalwork using mig and tig is essential. Knowledge and experience of metal finishing and working with brass would be a bonus.
DUTIES: * Develop welding projects by analysing work orders and plans to determine the most appropriate welding techniques * Fabricate components by using equipment to clean, prepare, cut and weld pieces; setting-up and measuring assemblies; selecting appropriate * Verify welding results by inspecting and testing welds. * Ability to work on a variety of projects simultaneously from frame making to gates, railings and handrails to high-end engineered decorative products. * Maintain a safe work environment by following procedures and complying with legal regulations. * Keep equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies and performing preventative maintenance. * Prepare site risk assessments
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS: * Welding and fabrication * Brass welding is a bonus but can be taught. * Managing, training and representing a small workshop team. * Documentation skills * Basic Safety and CSCS required * Coordinating site visits and representing the company on site * Equipment Maintenance, Power Tools * Dependability, Independence and strong client facing skill * Full and clean driving licence is a must * Good communication skills * Able to interpret and work from drawings
