Welder Fabricator

Salary: £16.38 per hour

Our client is a long established structural and mechanical engineering business supporting Steel and Rail sectors. Due to an increase in workload a vacancy has arisen for a welder / fabricator to join the team.
* You must hold current welding competences in MMA and be comfortable fabricating brackets on site and welding undersides of rail wagons, general repairs.
* Preferably times served but could be a holder of NVQ parts 1 and 2 or equivalent.
* You must be adaptable as at times you will be required to get involved with the team when there is no welding work to be done.
* The work involves repairing rail wagons with timber decks, fitting frames using power tools and hand tools, but also carrying out structural repairs on the wagons
* Your work will be inspected by others on completion.
* You will need to be a good all-rounder and be happy to work in the team regardless of task.
* All work is outdoors, all weathers.
* PPE will be provided (overalls, high-vis, helmet, eye protection and gloves). You will need to supply your own boots, welding screen and hand tools.
* You will need to have a full clean driving licence and be over 25 for vehicle insurance purposes. You will also need a current site safety passport.
Hours of work are 07:00 – 14:30 Monday to Friday with some overtime. Everyone in the team will be expected to take turns if overtime required.
