Welder / Fabricator

Salary: £30,000 – £32,400 per year

Platform Resourcing are currently working in Partnership with multiple award-winning company that rents a variety of plant construction equipment throughout the UK. Formed in 2012, this company has already established itself within the marketplace as providing a first-class service with an established customer network.

They are currently looking to recruit for a workshop-based Welder/fabricator to join their Swansea depot. The Welder/Fabricator will have experience of both MIG and ARC welding techniques. Most of the work will involve heavy and light plant equipment. This role offers opportunities to learn skills and work within a thriving business.

* £25,000 to £27,000 p/a

* Monday – Friday 7.30am – 17.00pm

Duties and Responsibilities

* Carry out repairs to buckets and attachments which may involve all aspects of welding and fabrication

* Inspect attachments for damage, assess repairs needed and prepare necessary repair quotations

* Manage stocks of materials and consumables to ensure consistent flow of repairs and maintenance

* Create a system of working that ensure that repairs are booked in and scheduled for repair in a timely way

* Liaising with other departments

* Ensuring deadlines are met

* Carrying out quality control as per quality plan

* Undertake Risk assessments and LOLERs for activities to be undertaken

* Adhering to and aim to improve health and safety policies and procedures

* Maintain the high quality of products that the company provide

* Welding various items such as guards and brackets

* Duties to include the use of hand tools, pistol drills, riveters, MIG welders, and Oxy – Acetylene torches

Qualifications, training and experience

* Transfer knowledge & experience

* Must be punctual and have good work ethic

* Must have at least 2 years’ experience working as a fabricator/welder on a range products

* Experience in general fabrication, welding mild steel

* Interpret drawings accurately

* Experience of sheet metal work

* Ability to work as part of a small team

* Must be able MIG/ARC weld to a high standard

* Work efficiently under pressure and to work on multiple projects simultaneously
