Waste Transfer Station Manager
Southeast
£-Attractive salary plus bonus
WasteRecruit have been retained by a reputable waste management and recycling company to help source an experienced Manager for the company’s Waste Transfer Station in the Southeast.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
* Day-to-day operation of the Transfer Station and liaison with the Skip Manager.
* Provide management cover in the absence of the Skip Manager.
* Sourcing most cost-effective outlets for wastes.
* Ensure qualifications are current and maintained as required.
* All aspects of Health and Safety and Legislation.
* Receiving enquires and returning quotations.
* Ensuring that personnel have received instruction for daily duties.
* Ensuring communication with visitors and external policing by Government/Local Authorities (Environment Agency, Health & Safety Executive, etc.)
* Liaise with clients regularly.
* Operating plant, machinery and equipment.
* Ensure all plant and equipment maintained regularly.
* Report all defects/damage to Plant and Vehicle Technician.
Candidate Requirements:
* Confident communicator at all levels ranging from daily site briefings and inductions, monthly management meetings, to building new customer relationships and maintaining and developing existing client base.
* Excellent people management skills.
* WAMITAB qualified.
* IOSH Managing Safely certified.
* Experience working around and operating 360° excavators, loading shovels, picking stations etc.
* Knowledge of waste streams.
* Knowledge of waste management software.
* Familiarity with Microsoft 360 Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
